Gold Coast Unveils Greenheart Robina Parklands

Mayor Tate and councillors at Greenheart opening

The City has reached an important milestone for enhancing green space on the Gold Coast with the official opening of Greenheart Stage 1.

Spanning 22.5 hectares, Stage 1, known as Greenheart Robina Parklands is a destination park providing ample space for hundreds of visitors each day, to play, relax, and enjoy the outdoors with a range of activities.

With an investment of over $25 million in park upgrades in this first stage, the City has created a versatile environment equipped with modern recreational facilities.

"The opening of Greenheart Robina Parklands marks a significant milestone in the City's commitment to fostering vibrant and accessible green spaces," said Mayor Tom Tate.

"It is a testament to our dedication to enhancing open spaces and providing valuable recreational facilities for our growing population.

"This park not only offers a space for locals and visitors to enjoy but also supports our overall Greenheart Masterplan, which aims to create a central 'green heart' on the Gold Coast.

"The great news is that 70% of total construction spend was delivered by Gold Coast businesses and with 62,000 hours of local employment provided, this project has already been a fantastic boost for our local workforce."

Greenheart Robina Parklands' extensive upgrades include recreational facilities designed to cater to all ages and interests.

From playgrounds and picnic areas to pathways and open fields, the park is an ideal location for leisure as well as keeping active and healthy.

The park features 400 newly planted trees and over 17,000 plants, enhancing the green canopy and contributing to the city's ecological wellbeing.

"This project is a great example of our commitment to improving the quality of life for our community.

"As the first stage of the Greenheart initiative, the park represents a significant step towards a greener, more sustainable future for the Gold Coast."
