Wollongong's banking services have received a significant boost with NAB's new $1.3 million branch opening this week.
The new-look branch maintains the impressive heritage of the Langs Corner building at the prime location at 101 Crown St.
NAB Retail Executive NSW, and Wollongong local, Tony Story said that while the team of local bankers only had to move around 150 metres from the old branch, the feeling is quite different, and the team is loving welcoming locals.
"This is really cool having a brand-new branch for Wollongong. It's a slick modern design with all the things like modern meeting spaces and digital tools that you'd expect for a bustling city like Wollongong," Mr Story said.
"The economy here in Wollongong is going from strength-to-strength, and it's increasingly a more popular place to live, so we're thrilled to invest in upgrading the banking facilities here."
The new branch is home to nine personal bankers, and features an open plan teller service area, meeting rooms with video conferencing technology, self-service machines in a 24/7 accessible lobby, and a digital banking space to show customers how they can make the most of their internet banking.
NAB's presence in Wollongong dates back to 1859.
The Wollongong branch brings NAB's investments across regional NSW in the last 24 months to more than $18 million with refurbishments completed across Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Dubbo, Inverell, Narrabri, Orange, Parkes and Tamworth.
