Gosling Creek Tree Planting For National Tree Day

Orange Council

Orange City Council and Planet Ark invite residents to dig in and get their hands dirty for nature and our community by joining in Australia's largest community tree planting event, National Tree Day, on Sunday 28 July.

Come along to Gosling Creek between 9am and 1.30pm to help plant local native species to add biodiversity, build new habitat and make a positive impact on the environment.

The result of last year's planting.

Last year, more than 100 volunteers helped plant 800 native trees and shrubs at the reserve.

Established in 1996, National Tree Day has grown into Australia's largest community tree planting and nature care event.
The program is a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to their community. Since 1996, more than 26 million trees have been planted around the country by over 5 million volunteers.
This year's planting site is right next to last year's, so volunteers will be able to see how far last year's trees and shrubs have grown.

From the Forest Road entrance to Gosling Creek, follow the path around to the right and meet near the gym equipment on the south-west corner of the reserve.

Volunteers can just turn up on the day, however, if you would like to register, you can do so here.

Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing, sunscreen, a hat and covered shoes. and bring a drink of water. A barbecue lunch will be provided for volunteers. Everyone welcome.

Thank you to our local sponsors Toyota, and Sullivans Mining and Industrial.

This year's planting site is in the south-west corner of the Gosling Creek Reserve.
