GOSS is making significant strides in sustainability by rolling out initiatives aimed at completely removing plastic packaging from its supply chain. In line with IM Group's commitment to environmental responsibility, the company has recently achieved ISO14001 certification, an international standard for effective environmental management systems. This milestone reflects it's dedication to minimising its environmental impact across all operations.
Adam Tidd, General Manager of Supply Chain at GOSS, highlighted the company's ongoing efforts: "Our goal is to eliminate single-use plastics entirely from our supply chain. We recognise the urgent need to reduce waste and are committed to implementing solutions that make a meaningful impact on the environment. Our new eco-friendly packaging is fully recyclable, but just as important, it doesn't compromise the quality of our product or packaging integrity. We've designed it to protect our products just as effectively, ensuring our customers get the same high standards they expect from GOSS."
The first product line to benefit from this eco-friendly packaging is GOSS Genuine Alternative Ignition Coils, which covers 95% of the Vehicle On Road Carparc. This wide-reaching line demonstrates GOSS's commitment to both environmental stewardship and maintaining product excellence across a key part of its range.
As part of these efforts, GOSS has been named a finalist for the 2024 APCO (Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation) Awards, which acknowledges companies leading the way in sustainable packaging solutions. This recognition underlines the effectiveness of GOSS's initiatives and positions the company as a leader in sustainable practices within the automotive industry.
In 2023, GOSS introduced a cardboard shredder to reduce the use of plastic bubble wrap, significantly lowering the plastic waste generated. Additionally, reuse initiatives such as battery recycling and donating used pallets to local farmers to prevent them from ending up in landfill have been implemented to further reduce environmental impact.
