Submissions for the 2024 Goulburn Art Award are officially open.
The Goulburn Art Award has been running since 1992 and represents talent and diversity of artists working within the region. The Award is open to artists living within a 120km radius of Goulburn working in any medium. The Gallery encourages submissions from artists at all stages of their careers. There is a total prize pool of $15,000 on offer.
Two categories will be open: the Goulburn Art Award and the Young Artist Award for artists between the age of 10 and 18 years old.
The Goulburn Art Award 2024 will be judged by Bree Pickering, Director, National Portrait Gallery. A highly regarded arts leader with extensive experience in the public and private gallery sectors, Bree was previously Director of the Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA), Executive Director of Vox Populi, and Cultural Program Manager for the Australian Embassy in Washington DC. The Goulburn Regional Art Gallery is delighted to have Pickering lending expertise to the Goulburn Art Award.
The winners will be announced on opening night, 6pm Friday 17 May, 2024, and the exhibition of finalists will run from 17 May through to Saturday 22 June 2024.
