A man has been charged after two drivers were threatened and one assaulted during several alleged attempted car-jackings in Goulburn yesterday, NSW Police say.
Police say it was shortly after 7pm yesterday (Friday 6 July 2018), that a 26-year-old man left a medical facility on Goldsmith Street, and allegedly made several attempts to access cars.
A 42-year-old man sustained a fractured eye socket, cuts and bruises after allegedly being assaulted by the younger man during an attempted car-jacking at the intersection of Addison and Faithfull Streets, Goulburn.
The driver, from Goulburn, was treated in hospital and has now been released.
Police alleged the 26-year-old man then ran towards a service station in Clinton Street where he allegedly threatened a 17-year-old driver with a knife, demanding his car keys.
The youth handed over his car keys and escaped without injury.
The man was unable to start the vehicle and he ran to Glebe Park where he was arrested by police from The Hume Police District.
He was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for assessment before being released back into the custody of police last night.
The man, from Tallong, has now been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with intent to rob, one count of robbery, and one count of enter inclosed lands.
He was bail refused to appear in Goulburn Local Court on Tuesday 11 July 2018.
