Goulburn Mulwaree Council has announced the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Aaron Johansson, effective 1 November 2024.

Council operations will continue as normal, and an Extraordinary Meeting of Council is scheduled for 7 November 2024 at 6pm to appoint an interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). During this meeting, the Council will also authorise Mayor Nina Dillon to initiate the recruitment process for a new CEO. The recruitment panel will include the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councillors.

The recruitment process is expected to take approximately 3 to 5 months.

Mayor Nina Dillon reassured the community and Council staff, stating, "I want to assure everyone that there will be no disruptions or impact on service delivery. Council has a highly capable and committed team of directors and staff."

On behalf of Council, Mayor Dillon also expressed gratitude for Mr Johansson's service: "We would like to extend our thanks to Aaron for his leadership over the past two and a half years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
