Today, Rockhampton Regional Council has lifted the emergency water restrictions for residents in the Gracemere area, following the recent bushfire in Kabra.

Chair of the Local Disaster Management Group and Rockhampton Regional Council Mayor Tony Williams said the fire is now contained thanks to the efforts of firefighting crews, emergency services, and the community.

"At this stage, residents and businesses can now resume normal water usage, and I would like to thank the community for adhering to the advice during yesterday's bushfire emergency," Mayor Williams said.

"These restrictions can come at short notice and are crucial for conserving water resources for our fire and emergency service crews.

"While the bushfire is contained at the moment, it is still there, and residents need to stay informed about the situation via Council's Emergency Dashboard and through QFES.

"This is once again a timely reminder for our whole region to prepare your home and remove anything that can be a hazard and ensure you have an emergency kit and plan in place."
