Graduate Paramedics Launch Their Careers In Tasmania

Tasmanian Government

Another 15 graduate paramedics are being deployed across Tasmania as the State's largest ever recruitment blitz continues.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has welcomed the new cohort of paramedics, who will strengthen our emergency response in all areas of the State.

Minister for Health, Jacquie Petrusma, met with the new graduate paramedics who are undertaking their induction before commencing in their roles.

"These graduate paramedics are stepping into a vital role that makes a real difference in the lives of Tasmanians every day," Minister Petrusma said.

"Over the next few weeks, they will be immersed in hands-on training and mentorship to ensure they are well-prepared and supported to deliver emergency care in the community.

"After completing the program, five will be based in the South, six in the North, and four in the North West, where they will receive on-the-road mentoring and support.

"I warmly welcome this group to the Ambulance Tasmania team as we continue our biggest ever paramedic recruitment blitz currently being undertaken through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future."

Bringing knowledge and experience from nursing, youth work, aviation, and volunteering, the new graduates join Ambulance Tasmania from across Australia and New Zealand.

These new graduates follow the recent intakes of 16 qualified paramedics who commenced in November 2024, five in September and 18 in July.
