Queensland Police have today arrested Graham Gene Potter, who was wanted on a Victorian warrant, in Ravenshoe in Far North Queensland.
Potter has been wanted since 2010 on conspiracy to murder and Commonwealth drug charges.
Acting on information received, Tablelands Detectives, uniformed police and the Cairns Dog Squad attended an Ascham Street residence at approximately 8.45am where the 64-year-old was located and taken into custody.
It is alleged Potter failed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court in February 2010 on charges of conspiracy to murder.
Tablelands Detectives previously received information of possible sightings of Mr Potter in Tully, in 2011.
Detectives from Victoria Police will now travel to Queensland to see Potter's extradition.
He is expected to appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court tomorrow, Tuesday February 22.
A significant number of searches and public appeals have been conducted over the past 12 years in an effort to locate Potter.
Victoria Police would like to acknowledge the significant assistance from Queensland Police and the Australian Federal Police in relation to this matter.
