The McGowan Government is helping to create new business and job opportunities in the regions, today announcing more than $350,000 from the Regional New Industries Fund for four projects to drive regional innovation and jobs.
The Regional New Industries Fund is part of the McGowan Government's commitment to support new and emerging businesses in the regions.
The latest grant recipients are:
- Pollinators (Geraldton) - $21,000 to teach young women computer coding to create new career pathways and job readiness;
- Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of WA (Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields) - $175,000 towards a pilot project to ensure the supply and use of authentic Aboriginal artwork in the souvenir and merchandise market;
- Wheatbelt Business Network (Narembeen) - $77,000 to advance a suite of programs to support the growth stage of start-up businesses striving to scale up and target new market opportunities; and
- ManukaLife (Peel) - $80,000 to test a closed loop ecosystem to produce Manuka essential oil.
