If you're enthusiastic about celebrating Australia Day and are hosting an event for the community, Rockhampton Regional Council wants to support your event.
Deputy Mayor Drew Wickerson said Council's Australia Day Community Events Grants Program is now open to applications from community groups and not-for-profit charity organisations within the Rockhampton Region.
"The Australia Day Grants assists groups with their events that celebrate the public holiday," Cr Wickerson said.
"Our goal for Australia Day is to bring people together to foster a sense of connectedness within the community.
"If you are hosting an event that is open to residents and visitors to the Region, then we welcome you to apply for a grant.
"If successful, your event could receive up to $3,000 in funding support from Council.
"Get inspired and find creative ways to celebrate being Australian, whether it's a family fun day, a sausage sizzle, a concert in a local park, or any other way of celebrating our national day."
The grants are open now and close on Friday 1 November, 2024.
