Grants Open for Organics Recycling Infrastructure

  • Organic recycling and processing operators can apply for a share in $1.25 million in funding
  • Funds to be awarded through the latest round of WasteSorted grants

Organics recycling and processing operators in Western Australia can now apply for $1.25 million worth of grant funding to support the State's uptake of Food Organics, Garden Organics (FOGO) recycling.

Funds to be awarded through the latest round of WasteSorted grants will support the construction or purchase of a broad range of infrastructure and equipment that can recycle separated FOGO materials, diverting them from landfill.

Administered by the Waste Authority, these grants are aligned with the objectives of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030, including recovering more value and resources from solid waste.

Applications close on October 7th, with information on how to apply here.

As stated by Environment Minister Reece Whitby:

"These grants can help recycling infrastructure operators to increase their ability to process and recycle the State's FOGO waste.

"Our Government is continuing to invest in WA's organic collection capacity and its associated processing infrastructure.

"We're committed to making landfill the last resort, and this grants program is another important step towards creating a low-waste, sustainable State."
