The Tasmanian Government is progressing its plans to help Tasmania transition from food relief to food resilience.
Up to $2.5 million in capital investment grants is on offer to help communities across the state.
Minister for Community Services, Roger Jaensch, said the Tasmanian Food Relief Capital Investment Grants Program for 2025 had now opened.
"As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, our government recommitted to an integrated food relief sector that supports Tasmanians in need to access sufficient, safe, nutritious, quality food, and access services to support long-term food resilience," Minister Jaensch said.
"I am pleased to announce we have committed $2.5 million to support this round of the capital investment grants program, which is in addition to $2.5 million that has been provided to Loaves and Fishes Tasmania for their warehouses in Brighton and Devonport."
Tasmanian food relief organisations can apply for small grants of up to $25,000 and large grants of up to $250,000.
"This is to upgrade, renovate, construct, or permanently improve food storage and logistics across Tasmania," Minister Jaensch said.
Food relief organisations that provide food relief and support to Tasmanians are encouraged to apply.
