Seven Territory organisations have received Arts Industry Development grants to support initiatives that increase the capacity, profile and employment of artists with disability; and develop innovative and experimental projects that increase the accessibility, capacity and sustainability of the arts sector.
The 'unchARTed' grants provide up to $20,000 to promote innovation and growth under three categories - Accessible Arts, Audience Diversification, and Digital Capability.
Successful recipients of the 'unchARTed' grants are:
Lifestyle Solutions - $20,000 towards travel costs for Central Australian artist Adrian Jangala Robertson to attend his international solo exhibition in London;Music NT - $20,000 for a collaboration with Maitree and Yum Cha Arts to develop a prototype app to connect NT musicians with an international audience;Darwin Community Arts - $20,000 for skills development programs and short courses across a range of artistic mediums for Darwin based artists with disability;Incite Arts - $20,000 to provide a pilot program that will help Centralian arts organisations and groups to become better arts and disability allies; and accessible practitioners;Darwin Fringe Festival - $19,737 towards inclusivity and accessibility of the 2024 Fringe Festival;Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation - $20,000 to develop a disability action and inclusion plan in time for its main events in August; andHappy Yess - $20,000 to diversify performance venues through a mobile venue concept.
