Greediness Thief's Downfall

PD Cooper has arrested a man after responding to a servo break at Elizabeth this morning.

About 1.50am (Monday 10 June) police were called Elizabeth Way after reports that a man was breaking into a service station and the store managers were watching in on their mobile phone. They watched as the man stole items, hid them outside and then went back in for a second time.

The victim was able to give a clear description of the suspect to police including that the believed he had broken in through the roof.

As patrols and PD Cooper arrived at the scene however the suspect had fled and was last seen running east into the Elizabeth Park area.

PD Cooper commenced tracking picking up the scent on Shillabeer Road, then turning north on Sullivan. From here the trail went through a school to North Way. PD Cooper located the suspect on the roof of a house and commenced negotiations.

A short time later the 22-year-old Adelaide man surrendered to PD Cooper and was taken into custody.

He is expected to be charged with a number of offences including property damage, serious criminal trespass and theft.

Crims Scene Investigators will be attending the business this morning to gather forensic evidence.
