Green Curtain Workshop 2024: Bayside

Bayside Council's recent Heat Ready Homes: Green Curtain Workshop at the Bayside Garden Centre was a success.

Attendees learnt how to use edible climbing plants such as cucumber and cherry tomatoes to create an outside green curtain to cover a window in this popular, free workshop.

As well as learning how to create greener, cooler and most sustainable spaces at home, attendees took home a starter kit to create their very own green curtains.

The 'Green Curtain Starter Kit' included a 250mm x 235mm pot packed with gravel, soil and a planted tomato/ cucumber plant, along with 2x garden stakes and netting.

Bayside Council will offer more informative community sessions to help residents become more energy-efficient and environmentally conscious in the future.
