Police have charged a 24-year-old man following a wounding incident in Cooktown this morning, March 20.
Just after 4am, police were called to a Hope Street health facility to reports a 26-year-old man had presented with serious injuries.
It is alleged an altercation occurred between two men known to each other on the street outside.
The injured man has been flown to Cairns Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police arrested a 24-year-old man at the Hope Street address.
He was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm domestic violence offence.
The man is due to appear in the Cooktown Magistrates Court on March 31.
