Dutton Park Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) and Caboolture CIB detectives have charged two teenagers following investigations into an attempted armed robbery and assault at a Norman Park property last week.
At approximately 2.40am on March 20, emergency services were called to an Agnew Street address to reports people had allegedly broken into a property while armed with a knife.
A 50-year-old male resident confronted the alleged offenders, before they allegedly threatened him and demanded car keys.
There was a physical altercation during which the man sustained serious injuries.
It is alleged the offenders left the scene in a black sedan reported stolen from a Cannon Hill address on March 19.
Property including electronics were allegedly stolen from the Norman Park address.
It is alleged the same offenders are linked to several other property offences between March 18 to March 24 across several suburbs including Seventeen Mile Rocks, Carindale, Cannon Hill, Greenslopes, East Brisbane, Richlands, and Murarrie.
On March 24, police tracked a stolen vehicle to an Eugenia Avenue address at Deception Bay where two alleged offenders were located after a search of the house.
A 15-year-old Inala boy has been charged with 17 offences including four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of attempted enter, attempted enter with intent, and stealing, and one count each of burglary, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence, grievous bodily harm, enter dwelling with intent, and attempted fraud.
His bail was refused, and he is expected to appear in the Caboolture Children's Court today, March 25.
A 14-year-old Cannon Hill boy has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle while in company.
His bail was refused, and he appeared in the Caboolture Children's Court yesterday, March 24.
Investigations are ongoing.
Dutton Park CIB Officer in Charge, Detective Senior Sergeant Benjamin Henderson says detectives had worked tirelessly to ensure justice for the victims.
"Every available resource had been directed towards locating the those allegedly involved in these serious offences," Detective Henderson said.
"We were determined to restore the victim's feeling of security and send a clear message to any offender that they will be held to account for their crimes."
