Grievous Bodily Harm Charge, Southport

Police have charged a man in relation to an alleged grievous bodily harm incident that occurred in Southport yesterday, August 30.

It will be alleged an altercation occurred between two men at a location along Welch Street around midday.

One of the men then walked to a toilet in a shopping centre where a member of the public then called emergency services.

The man, a 42-year-old Southport man, sustained a non-life-threatening chest injury and was transported to hospital.

Following investigations, a 43-year-old man was located and arrested in Miami last night, August 30.

He has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, possessing relevant substance and possess utensils.

He appeared at Southport Magistrates Court today where he was remanded in custody to reappear on September 10.
