Two men have been charged over an alleged serious assault at an address in Currajong on Thursday, July 11.
Police were called after 2am to reports of a disturbance on Mooney Street, involving a group of people who are known to each other.
A 31-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken hospital for treatment.
Later that day, police arrested a 35-year-old man and charged him with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
He's been remanded in custody and is expected to re-appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on September 24.
On July 12, a 32-year-old man was arrested after police made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in West End.
