Griffith City Council Community Grants Awarded

Griffith City Council has awarded community grants to two local organisations allowing them to deliver community-based projects.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said, the Community Grant Program supports applications from organisations that address the needs of the community as outlined in Council's Community Strategic Plan.

The program also supports individuals who are attending significant activities or events at a State and National level.

"The aim is to support new initiatives, activities and projects that increase community capacity to address unmet needs, improve well-being and harmony, and reduce isolation of disadvantaged groups," said Councillor Curran.

"Congratulations to the successful applicants, we're sure these grants will help make these projects a success.

"Council understands the community grant process isn't necessarily easy and we are committed to reviewing the policy to ensure worthwhile community organisations can get a hand when they need it."

The successful Community Grant Applications for Round 2 2023/2024 were:

• Griffith and Regional Association of the Performing Art (GRAPA) - $2,500

• TEDx Griffith Auspiced by Griffith Women in Business - $2,500

Council will open the next round in the coming months, with organisations urged to keep an eye out for those.
