Griffith Council Hails Success of Drive-In Movie Night

Griffith City Council, in partnership with Pristine Productions, proudly hosted a highly successful Drive-In Movie Night on Friday, 30 August 2024, at the Griffith Showgrounds. The event, which featured the blockbuster hit Top Gun: Maverick, attracted approximately 250 cars, each with 2 to 4 moviegoers ready to enjoy a night of cinema under the stars.

The event was a resounding success, with attendees displaying excellent behaviour, creating a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the choice of movie and the unique experience of watching it in a drive-in setting.

Ellie Andreazza, Youth Advisor at Griffith City Council, highlighted the importance of such events for the local youth community. "The Drive-In Movie Night was an incredible experience for our young people. It provided a safe and fun environment where they could come together and enjoy a movie, and socialise. Events like these are so important for building a sense of community and offering entertainment that appeals to everyone," she said.

Shireen Donaldson, Director of Economic and Organisational Development at Griffith City Council, expressed her delight at the event's success. "We are so happy with the turnout and the enthusiastic response from the community. The success of the Top Gun: Maverick screening shows there is a strong appetite for more events like this. We are already looking forward to planning an even bigger and better Drive-In Movie Night in the future."

To help ensure future events are even more successful, Griffith City Council is asking attendees to complete a short survey. The feedback gathered will be invaluable in helping us improve and create an even better experience next time. You can complete the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6GYBKPX

Griffith City Council extends a sincere thank you to all the patrons who attended, the food and drink vendors who provided refreshments, and Pristine Productions for their outstanding event management and technical support.
