Griffith City Council is celebrating the success of its recent free community microchipping day, held at Kubank Park on Saturday, 28 September 2024.
The free microchipping event was a fantastic opportunity for pet owners to ensure their pets were microchipped and their details were up to date, with many residents attending the event.
On the day, 54 animals were successfully microchipped, helping to safeguard pets in the Griffith area by making it easier for them to be reunited with their owners if they go missing.
Council's team also assisted with updating incorrect microchip details, ensuring pet owners were compliant with the Companion Animals Act 1998.
The Pound & Animal Rehoming Centre team was on hand to answer questions about responsible pet ownership, while the Friends of the Griffith Pound provided information about their desexing program and offered vouchers to eligible residents.
This collaborative effort underscores Council's ongoing commitment to promoting responsible pet care within the community.
