Greensborough Highway Patrol officers expect to charge a driver following a series of alleged hit and run collisions across Melbourne's northeast last night.
Officers responded to reports of a white Toyota Hilux utility driving erratically on Albert Street in Preston, before colliding with the rear of another vehicle in the vicinity of Tyler Street about 6.30pm.
It is alleged that the Toyota fled the scene after the collision.
There were no injuries.
In what could be described as déjà vu, another report came in of a white utility involved in a rear-end collision, this time at the intersection of Plenty Road and Kingsbury Drive in Bundoora.

A short time later, history repeated itself once again, when it was reported to police that a white Toyota Hilux was involved in a collision with a parked vehicle on Thames Street in Heidelberg Heights.
This time the driver allegedly dumped the vehicle and fled on foot.
There were no injuries.
Fast responding officers arrested the alleged driver moments later, on Upper Heidelberg Road.
The man allegedly returned a positive preliminary breath test for alcohol and then an alleged evidentiary breath test reading of 0.203.
A 51-year-old Parkville man is expected to be charged on summons with multiple counts of dangerous driving, failing to stop and exchange details after a collision, drink driving and other traffic offences.
The Toyota, allegedly damaged beyond being drivable, was towed.
