GRYFest Returns To Georges River For NSW Youth Week

Georges River Council

Georges River Council is proud to announce the return of the highly anticipated Georges River Youth Festival (GRYFest) in celebration of NSW Youth Week!

GRYFest is an exciting annual Council-led program organised in consultation with the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) to ensure that it meets the needs and desires of local youth.

To mark the occasion, Council will be hosting two exciting events – the much-loved Battle of the Beats youth music competition on Friday 11 April 2025 and Olds Park Youth Festival on Thursday 17 April 2025.

Battle of the Beats returns for its third iteration in partnership with 3Bridges Community. Sponsored by Optus, Bondi Radio and Greenfern Studios, this event showcases the musical talents of our local youth, providing an opportunity for participants to battle it out on stage to win some amazing prizes that will support their musical journey. The following musicians have been locked in to battle it out for the top spot:

  • DEON.

  • Hellix.

  • Jada Maya.

  • Violet Phoenix.

  • Cross Pollinate.

Expect some electrifying performances from these talented young musicians and bands!

Council is also inviting the community to attend the Olds Park Youth Festival, sponsored by Optus. This year, Council is collaborating with local youth organisations and suppliers to host an exciting line-up of free activities, workshops and stalls. With Easter just around the corner, activities will include Easter egg hunts, creative art and sustainability workshops, inflatable activities, skateboarding workshops and more.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "GRYFest is such an exciting event every year that celebrates and brings our youth community together.

"Our YAC has provided their expertise in planning these events as part of GRYFest to really tailor the program to the youth community of Georges River.

"I encourage all to get involved in this year's program and can't wait to see the musical talent on show at Battle of the Beats and community connection at Olds Park Youth Festival," added the Mayor.
