Guardian angels of different kind

Two people have been guided to safety by the Air Wing after their jet ski ran aground off Blind Bight on Christmas evening.

The pair, a 47-year-old man from Mt Eliza and 39-year-old woman from Cheltenham, became stuck on a sandbar 400 metres off-shore about 6.20pm.

They spent hours trying free the bogged jet ski before giving up and calling emergency services for help shortly before 12.30am.

The Air Wing located the duo, who had managed to free the jet ski in the meantime.

From above, the rider was guided by the Air Wing through the pitch-black water and safely back to shore.

The pair attended hospital for assessment.
