Guidance Changes Are Coming Soon

TGA

Some changes are coming soon to improve your experience using guidance on our website. We're rolling out some useful new features that will make our content clearer to understand, more accessible and easier to navigate.

You have spoken, and we've listened

Since 2023, we've been doing user research on 'guidance' content on our website with industry. Our findings have been that guidance content needs much improvement to make it more user friendly. Through our research, users have told us that they find guidance:

  • difficult to navigate and find

  • unclear, as to what the 'rules are'

  • difficult to know what's been updated.

Changes coming soon

From September, we will be reorganising our guidance, so it only includes content that is an explanation of the law and regulations on therapeutic goods. This will make it clearer that guidance is about the rules you need to follow.

We will be introducing useful new features, across our website, like:

  • improved page navigation, so that you can easily jump to headings on long pages

  • colourful indicators, so you can see when content is new or has been updated

  • headings that will allow you to bookmark and share parts of content.

We will also be working to improve our page history, providing clear descriptions of what's updated when version changes are made to guidance.

These features will be rolled out gradually, as they become ready.

How we are improving accessibility

We are moving to a 'digital first' approach to improve accessibility of our site, and meet the Commonwealth's Digital Service Standards.

We will be gradually phasing out PDF and word attachments and replacing them with fully digital content. For guidance, users will be able to print the web page as a PDF.

Stay tuned!

You will see that guidance will have a new look and feel over the coming months. While we make our changes, we ask for your continued patience as we roll out these improvements.
