On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Guinea on your 66th year of independence.
In the coming year, the United States will support Guinea's efforts to hold a constitutional referendum and work with all Guineans as you navigate the path back to democracy. We remain dedicated to working together to strengthen democratic institutions, promote political pluralism and respect for human rights, and expand mutual prosperity. On this day of national celebration, I send my best wishes to all Guineans.
