Murrindindi, Mitchell and Mansfield Shire Councils have been successful in receiving $1.2 million through the Victorian Government's Regional Tourism Investment Fund to create large-scale art installations along the Great Victorian Rail Trail (GVRT).
We are looking to appoint a Project Manager to take the lead on this exciting project. This role will be crucial in ensuring the Project delivers great outcomes for our community and businesses.
Council's Tourism Portfolio Councillor Ilona Gerencser said once we appoint a Project Manager, it'll be full steam ahead.
'We want to work closely with our communities in Murrindindi, Mansfield and Mitchell Shires to ensure we make a great success of this Project. Your ideas and input will help us decide on the best themes and locations for the installations along the Rail Trail.
'These art installations will be a huge drawcard for visitors to the Rail Trail', Cr Gerencser said.
'With art installations dotted along the trail, from Tallarook to Mansfield, our local businesses will benefit from the extra time visitors spend in our region to experience these new attractions – this should give them a real boost as we gradually emerge from COVID-19 restrictions.
'We'll provide more information to the community about this Project soon, including how you can get involved. If you're interested in being involved as a community member, business owner or tourism operator, keep an eye out for opportunities to contribute your ideas in the coming months', Cr Gerencser added.
