The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Gwydir Shire Council to amend 12 existing address locality boundaries in its Local Government Area.
Gwydir Shire Council proposed the boundary amendments following a review of rural addresses, which identified a need to amend some address locality to avoid confusion in the provision of services including Emergency Services.
The GNB is seeking feedback on the proposal to amend the locality boundaries of Keera and Bundarra, Dinoga and Cobbadah, Crooble and Pallamallawa, Delungra and Balfours Peak, Gulf Creek and Keera, and, Boggabilla and Tulloona.
The Board is encouraging community comment before it considers the proposal.
Details of the proposals can be viewed and submissions lodged on the Geographical Names Board's website.
Alternatively, written submissions may be mailed to the Secretary, Geographical Names Board, 346 Panorama Ave, Bathurst, NSW 2795.
Submissions can be made until 23 July 2023.
