Family First has called for a pause on Muslim immigration after 50 Muslim leaders teamed up with an international Islamic terrorist organisation, Hizb ut-Tahrir, to sign an open letter defending the Bankstown Muslim nurses who boasted of killing Israelis.
Family First lead Senate candidate for NSW, Lyle Shelton said the pause should remain in place for as long as local Muslim leaders think it is okay to collaborate with international terrorists and local proponents of violence against Jews.
"The antisemitism crisis that has festered and escalated since October 7 is not just anti-Jew, it is anti-Australian values.
"Family First believes most Muslim Australians love Australia and its values but clearly they are being let down by leaders who want to perpetuate ancient hatreds which have no place in Australia.
"Family First's message is 'you are welcome here but if you come, leave your fights where you came from and learn to live in peace here'.
"Yesterday's Hizb ut-Tahrir-inspired letter demonstrates moral confusion among Muslim leaders and that a pause on Muslim immigration is needed to protect Australia's social cohesion.
"We cannot simply allow unfettered access to the gift of Australian citizenship to people whose Australian leaders collaborate with international terrorist organisations.
"Australia's Muslim leaders, most of whom have never condemned Hamas, do not seem to understand that the October 7 attack on Israel was the single biggest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust.
"In fact, it was an attempted second Holocaust "from the River to the Sea".
"Israel's defence of its people is entirely justified, and it remains a fact that no civilian life in Gaza would have been lost if Hamas had not, in the most brazen and cowardly way, used innocent people as shields.
"If Australia was attacked in the way Israel was, Australians would demand military action in our nation's defence, even if that meant, regrettably, the loss of civilian life in pursuit of the aggressors.
"A pause on Muslim immigration would send a powerful message to rogue Muslim leaders that Australia is serious about Western values – values that are incompatible with terrorism, violence and antisemitism.
"Family First renewed calls for the Albanese Government to follow the lead of other governments such as the UK, Pakistan and Germany and list Hizb ut-Tahrir as a terrorist organisation.
"Criminal sanction should apply to anyone associating with a terrorist organisation.
"According to the Australian newspaper, the open letter was organised by local Hizb ut-Tahrir operatives.
"Sheik Ibrahim Dadoun, who on October 8 boasted that he was "elated" by Hamas's slaughter, rapes and kidnapping, is a signatory.
"Another signatory is Wissam Haddad, also known as Abu Ousayd. He is rightly being sued for allegedly preaching that Jewish people "descendants of pigs and monkeys" and for reciting Islamic texts about killing Jews.
"Australia simply cannot afford to bring large numbers of people into this nation whose values are incompatible with Western Judeo-Christian values.
"Muslims who perpetuate the ancient hatreds of the Middle East should not come to Australia.
"Family First agreed with Coalition calls for public funding to be stripped from the Muslim organisations which signed the letter," Mr Shelton said.
