Have Your Say on Smithfield Park Plans, Harristown

Residents are invited to have their say on the development of a concept plan for Smithfield Park, Harristown in Toowoomba, as part of the park's upgrade to a District Recreation Park.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Cr Geoff McDonald said the creation of a concept plan will help to guide Council's future improvements to the park.

"The concept plan will establish a long-term vision for the park, guiding Council's future park upgrade works and aid consideration for improvements or new features, such as play equipment, pathways, picnic facilities, toilets and landscaping," Mayor McDonald said.

"District Parks are designed to form the basis of community connection, encouraging people of all ages and ability to visit and stay longer.

"The community is encouraged to share ideas by completing a survey on Council's Your Say website, phoning Council or sending written feedback to Council prior to consultation closing on Friday, February 14, 2025.

"An opportunity will be given to the community to review and comment on the draft concept plan in 2025.

"It is important to remember that any future upgrade works will be dependent on funding availability and Council priorities".
