Hawkesbury Library Launches New Free Programs, Services

Hawkesbury City Council's libraries at Windsor and Richmond are not just places to read and borrow exciting books. They are a magnet for the local community, offering programs and services for people of all ages.

This year, the library service is expanding both its Tech Help and JP services, and starting a new Book Chat program for readers to share their discoveries with others.

Tech Help

Weekly Tech Help offers library members free assistance with general technical issues including settings, app installations and more. This service will run Mondays 11am–12pm at the Central Library, Windsor and 2–3pm Thursdays at Richmond Branch Library.

Starts Monday 3 February. Bookings are essential. To book, call 02 4560 4460.

Justice of the Peace Services

Last year, more than 790 people used a Justice of the Peace at the library to witness signatures, certify copies of documents and much more. The JPs volunteered almost 200 hours of their time to the Hawkesbury community. This year, the invaluable free service is being expanded from two days a week to three – on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 10am–12pm at the Central Library in Windsor.

Bookings not required.

Book Chat

Book Chat is a less structured book club with no set book to read. Simply bring along a book that you would like to share with the group. Book Chat will meet 10:30am–12:30pm monthly on the last Wednesday of each month at Central Library in Windsor.

Starts Wednesday 29 January. Bookings not required.

These new offerings are in addition to the library's extensive regular programs including Digital Mentoring, Free Legal Clinic, Knit with Friends, Book Clubs, and children's programs Rhyme Time, Story Time and Puppy-dog Tales. Library programs cater to all audiences, including children, families, and seniors.
