Hawkesbury Triumphs in 2025 Clean Up Australia Day

Council collected 1.5 tonnes of litter from Clean Up Australia sites in the Hawkesbury in what was a very successful Clean Up Australia Day earlier this month.

A total of 44 sites were registered across the LGA. This included 27 school clean ups, 14 community sites and three business sites, making it the highest number of sites in the Hawkesbury LGA in recent years.

People gave their time to pick up rubbish at Pughs Lagoon (Smith Park), Bounty Reserve, Glossodia Community Centre, Navua Reserve, Fitzroy Bridge Windsor, Yarramundi Reserve, Matheson Park, Kurrajong, Laurence Street Reserve, and Colo Park.

Council wants to give a giant thank you the Hawkesbury community for continually volunteering for this event and helping to keep the Hawkesbury beautiful and litter free.

To keep our area clean and litter free all year round, residents are encouraged use the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA) Report a Tosser! platform if they witness littering from a vehicle.
