Strike Force Vulcan officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding a scrub fire on a vacant block on the corner of Twelfth and Forrest Roads in Haynes yesterday, Thursday 15 December 2022.
About 11am, Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to the fire which was moving towards Armadale Road and homes and businesses in the area. The fire burnt over 5 hectares of bushland.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and police wish to speak to anyone with information relating to this fire, or who has mobile phone, or dash-cam vision of the area taken between 10.30am and 12pm, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
