Shoalhaven City Council is asking the community to help them plan for a growing and changing population and its housing needs over the next 30 years for Milton, Ulladulla and the surrounding areas, including Burrill Lake, Dolphin Point, Kings Point, Mollymook, Mollymook Beach and Narrawallee.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley said as communities in Milton, Ulladulla and surrounding areas continue to grow and change it is important that Council consider future plans for the area.
"These changes create a demand for more new homes and for different types of homes," Clr Findley said.
"We need to manage this demand to avoid a housing shortage and help address rising house prices. We also need to make sure the right type of homes are built to suit the needs of different households."
Clr Findley said Council is planning to meet this challenge and encourages residents in the southern Shoalhaven to contribute their feedback via a survey.
"The aim of the survey is to find out what the community values, the way land is used, how and where development should occur," Clr Findley said.
"We also want to hear about people's experiences with housing availability, suitability, and affordability."
"This is the first consultation activity, but rest assured there will be more opportunities for community participation in this work as the project progresses. This survey will help Council determine what those opportunities look like, and what ideas and concepts need further investigation," Clr Findley said.
The survey is open until Sunday 12 September 2021 and available on Council's Get Involved page.
Alternative methods of completing the survey are available by contacting Council's Project Team on (02) 4429 5884.
