The City of Whittlesea is excited to invite the community to have their say on the draft Mill Park Place Framework.
The draft framework, which was endorsed to go out to the community for their feedback at the Council Meeting on Tuesday 16 July, is a collaborative vision that aims to shape the future of Mill Park.
Developed with input from a dedicated community reference group, the draft framework outlines a plan to enhance Mill Park's streets, public spaces, community precincts, infrastructure, and transport over time.
The draft Mill Park Place Framework focuses on six key projects in the short-term including safer streets to walk or bike to school, enhanced community hubs, revitalising key destinations, reimagining transmission easements, upgrading parks and increasing walkability through future development.
In the long-term, the project focuses on advocating for improvements to key roads, waterway corridors and town centres.
City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson encouraged community feedback to help finalise the framework.
"The draft Mill Park Place Framework is a collaborative vision between Council and the community. Your feedback is essential in making sure this framework genuinely represents Mill Park residents and ensure Mill Park remains a vibrant, enjoyable and well-planned community. We look forward to hearing your feedback, insights and ideas."
Consultation is open from 29 July to 25 August 2024. You can have your say online or come along to an in-person community pop-up to discuss the framework and share your thoughts directly with Council staff. Your input will inform the final framework before it is presented for Council endorsement.
