Shoalhaven City Council is reaching out to community members to find out what improvements they want to see in Shoalhaven City by 2032. Council wants to know what you love about the Shoalhaven, and what it's key challenges are? Council is asking the community these questions as part of the Community Strategic Plan Review.
The Plan is a long-term strategy that captures the community's vision and identifies the main priorities and aspirations of the community for the future.
The community may recall answering similar questions regarding the future of the Shoalhaven in 2017, when Council carried out an extensive engagement process that involved over 1,600 community members and resulted in the development of the Shoalhaven 2027 Community Strategic Plan that is now under review.
Shoalhaven City Council Director - City Performance, Kevin Voegt said that a new term of Council will commence following the Local Government elections on Saturday 4 December 2021.
"As per legislation, the Community Strategic Plan must be reviewed at the beginning of each Council term," Mr Voegt said.
"Whilst the current plan isn't too far off the mark, it's a worthwhile exercise to revisit it to ensure it's still relevant and captures the aspirations of the whole community."
"The Plan is our guide that tells us what we are striving to achieve, the strategies we will use to get there, and an annual review process will keep us on track and ensure we have reached our goals."
"I encourage anyone with an interest in our City's future to take a moment to contribute to the review by filling out the online survey, answering the questions we pose on Facebook, or getting their kids to imagine their future through the drawing exercise," Mr Voegt said.
