Tweed Shire Council is calling for expressions of interest from experienced professionals to join the Northern Regional Planning Panel (NRPP) as Council-appointed members.
The NRPP plays a vital role in determining regionally significant development applications, reviewing rezoning proposals, and providing expert planning advice to ensure balanced and strategic decision-making in the Tweed.
The Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP) system was first established by the NSW Government in 2009. The planning panel responsible for matters concerning Tweed Shire is the Northern Regional Planning Panel (NRPP).
Tweed Shire Council Director of Planning and Regulation Denise Galle encourages experienced professionals to apply for the opportunity to contribute to the region's future development.
"This is a unique chance for industry professionals to have a direct impact on planning decisions that shape the future of Tweed," Ms Galle said.
"We are looking for individuals with senior-level experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative and professional manner."
Council is seeking to appoint 4 paid positions for a for a 3 year term. Two positions will be permanent members and the others will be alternate members. At least 1 member must have expertise in areas such as planning, architecture, heritage, the environment, urban design, land economics, traffic and transport, law, engineering, or tourism. Property developers and real estate agents are not eligible to be members of the panel.
