Help Sought to ID Attempted UUMV Victim in Park Ridge

Police are seeking public assistance to identify the driver of a white Ford Courier utility involved in an attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle at Park Ridge on September 18, 2024.

The incident occurred around 2:20pm, when police observed a stolen dark grey Subaru Forester in the Browns Plains area. The vehicle, bearing stolen Queensland registration plates, was monitored by Polair travelling in a dangerous manner on the Mount Lindesay Highway.

A Tyre Deflation Device (TDD) was successfully deployed by police on the Mount Lindesay Highway, resulting in the vehicle coming to a stop.

The male suspect left the vehicle and fled on foot across the Mount Lindesay Highway and attempted to enter a white Ford Courier utility stopped at a red light on the Mount Lindesay Highway service road.

The driver of the Ford Courier moved their vehicle to evade the male suspect, who was unable to gain entry and was arrested a short time later.

Police would like to speak with the driver of the Ford Courier who may be able to assist in their investigation.

A 27-year-old New Beith man has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs over schedule, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of obstruct police officer, dangerous operation of a vehicle and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act.

He was denied bail and is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 17.
