The playground at Henderson Oval Yoogali is set to undergo a makeover in the coming months.
Council will be upgrading the existing play equipment including installation of a new shade structure as part of the upgrade. Additional works may also be included depending on the outcome of an external grant application.
Public consultation will be carried out before determining final scope of works, with residents and interested members of the community invited to have their say. Dates for consultation will be advertised by Council in the coming weeks.
Griffith Mayor, Councillor John Dal Broi, said Council is committed to implement the Playground Strategy and carry out upgrades to existing playgrounds.
"The playground at Henderson Oval was recognised as urgently requiring upgrades and this has been scheduled to start this financial year," said Councillor Dal Broi.
"It is also pleasing to see that the trees removed from Jubilee Oval trees will be repurposed to provide a nature play area at Henderson Oval – a great addition to the playground."
"Council is working through the Strategy and will be further investing in playgrounds throughout Griffith and villages," he added.
