Slither into the Lunar New Year with dancers, activities for the kids and the return of the popular food safari.
The Southport CBD will come alive with a variety of colourful activities to help herald in the Year of the Snake.
"The Year of the Snake represents wisdom and transformation with the Southport CBD set to celebrate that and welcome the Lunar New Year," Mayor Tom Tate said.
"We invite everyone down to welcome and celebrate the New Year.
"There will be plenty of activities for kids and big kids alike as well as the return of the $5 food safari."
Festivities this year will include lotus origami making, woodblock painting, and Chinese calligraphy as well as market stalls and an interactive wishing tree.
There will also be the popular lion and dragon dancers as well as fan dancing.
The festivities will culminate with an amazing fireworks finale from 7:30pm.
