Macedon Ranges Highway Patrol officers were left shaking their heads following a high-speed intercept in Eppalock yesterday.
Officers observed a vehicle overtaking numerous vehicles in a dangerous manner on Axedale-Kimbolton Road around 4.15pm.
The Ute was intercepted and clocked travelling more than three times the posted speed limit.
The speed check alleges the vehicle travelling at 126km/h in a 40km/h zone.
The 45-year-old Echuca man's vehicle was impounded at a cost of $975.
He is expected to be charged on summons with offences including dangerous driving, exceeding the speed limit by 45km/h or more, conducting an unsafe overtake and driving to the right of double lines.
