High-Speed Rail Office Fuels Regional Growth

Property Council Hunter and Central Coast Regional Director Amy De Lore said the Newcastle office and accompanying Community Information Centre reinforced the region's critical role in delivering this transformative project.

"This is a fantastic step forward for Newcastle, and for the wider Hunter and Central Coast region," Ms De Lore said.

"The new HSRA office brings us another step closer to the new homes, jobs, and economic growth this project will deliver.

"Fast, reliable, efficient transport will make the Hunter and Central Coast even more attractive places to live and invest, unlocking more housing and strengthening local economies," she said.

Ms De Lore said complementary policies and investment would be needed to ensure the region reaped the full benefits.

"High-speed rail can be a catalyst for growth, but infrastructure planning, housing supply, and investment strategies need to align with the opportunity.

"This project is about more than just reducing travel times-it's about shaping the future of our growing cities and regions.

"With the NSW Government's latest population projections forecasting an additional 230,000 people for the Central Coast, Lower Hunter and Newcastle by 2041, we also need to maintain immediate focus on upgrades to improve efficiency and speed.

"We've no time to lose to improve existing transport services and get moving with infrastructure investment to get more people moving and unlock the potential of the region," she said.

The Property Council is working closely with the HSRA and all levels of government to ensure the project delivers maximum benefits for Newcastle, the Hunter and Central Coast, and beyond.
