Toowoomba Regional Council is inviting the Highfields community to an information session on the draft Central Highfields Master Plan.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald said the session would be held on Wednesday, 7 May at 6pm at the Highfields Cultural Centre.
"Council committed to the Highfields community that we would 'close the loop' on the recent community consultation process for the draft Central Highfields Master Plan.
"As part of that, senior Council Officers and elected representatives will be available at a community information session on Wednesday 7 May," Mayor McDonald said.
Formal consultation on the draft Master Plan was conducted by Council over 25 business days, from January 28 to March 3.
"During this period, Council received 226 submissions and the Council Your Say site recorded more than 7,000 visits.
"Council's Planning team continues to review these submissions, identifying key issues, and preparing an information session for Councillors. This session will help Councillors understand community feedback and how it may influence the draft Master Plan," he said.
"Councillors and the Planning team committed to coming back to the community following the consultation phase and that's exactly what we will do on May 7. This community information session will take place before the final report is presented to Councillors."
