Historic images of Horsham's main buildings will be projected in Firebrace Street next week as part of a national celebration of regional Australia's main streets.
Main Streets of Australia Week starts Monday and aims to highlight the social and economic value main streets and city centres bring to local communities.
Horsham Rural City Council is helping the Wimmera to join in the festivities by projecting photos of the city from the 19th and early 20th centuries onto the former Wimmera Shire building at 43 Firebrace Street.
The projections will run from dusk until 10pm each night until Sunday.
Images showing Horsham from yesteryear will be featured in the display.
Not-for-profit organisation Mainstreet Australia is behind the inaugural campaign to support and preserve main streets.
Mayor Robyn Gulline said the campaign was an excellent opportunity to showcase the historic value of central Horsham.
"This is a terrific way to celebrate the heritage of our beautiful shopping precinct and show support for our local businesses who have certainly done it tough the last few years," Cr Gulline said.
