On Saturday 22 June 2024, Sex Assault Squad detectives charged a 28-year-old man with 11 child sexual related offences that occurred between 2021 and 2022.
During the time of the alleged offences, the man was employed as a relief teacher and sports coach at various schools throughout regional and metropolitan WA.
The 28-year-old man from Darlington was charged with:
• 10 counts of Sexually Penetrated a Child Over 16 Under Their Authority; and
• 1 count of Indecently Deals with a Child Over 16 Under Their Authority.
He appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court on 23 June 2024 and was bailed to appear in court on 2 August 2024.
Further investigations by Sex Assault Squad detectives, led to them charging the man on Monday 24 June 2024, with a further six offences:
• Three counts of procure a person under 13 years for sexual activity; and
• One count of Possessing Child Exploitation Material.
• Two counts of Expose Person under 13 years to indecent material
He appeared in Midland Magistrates Court on these offences on 25 June 2024 and has been remanded in custody until 2 August 2024.
