Police have charged two people following an alleged hit and run traffic crash that injured a police officer in Bundaberg yesterday, November 17.
It will be alleged, just before 4pm, police were conducting checks on an abandoned stolen vehicle near Cullen Street in Walkervale before a silver Subaru Forester drove by.
The Subaru allegedly drove at one of the police officers after he attempted to intercept the vehicle.
The officer sustained minor chest and foot injuries from the crash and was transported to the Bundaberg Base Hospital, where he has since been discharged.
The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Branyan woman, has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, fail to comply with duties of driver involved in a crash, and possession of possession of drug utensil.
She is due to appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today.
The passenger of the vehicle, a 16-year-old Kalkie boy, has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company and wilful damage.
He is due to appear before the Bundaberg Childrens Court today.
Investigations remain ongoing.
