Police are appealing for information following a hit-run collision in Malvern East earlier this month.
Investigators have been told a black Nissan coupe was waiting to turn right from Waverley Road into Golfers Drive when a white Peugeot 308 crashed into the back of the Nissan about 10.30pm on 7 July.
Both vehicles pulled into Golfers Drive but the Peugeot continued and did not stop.
The 30-year-old driver of the Nissan had a friend attend the location and as they were examining his car the driver of the Peugeot returned and drove at the pair before driving off.
The friend got into his ute and followed the Peugeot.
Both vehicles were involved in several collisions with each other before the Peugeot drove off.
The Peugeot was later located in Moroney Drive, Chadstone with stolen plates attached to it.
Investigators are yet to identify the driver.
Anyone who may have seen the collisions or who has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 18000 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
